What We Do

PJ Library

Children’s books make Jewish learning fun and easy for your family from the comfort of your pajamas. Each month, PJ Library sends Jewish children (from newborn through 8 years) a free, age-appropriate Jewish themed book. Kids 8 ½ to 12 years old are eligible to enroll in the next chapter of PJ Library called PJ Our Way. Each month PJ Our Way kids choose which book

Why PJ Library?

Books and stories shape a child’s world, and our children will shape the Jewish future. Storybooks are a great way to engage children with Jewish history, timeless values, traditions, and holiday celebrations. When families share these stories, they celebrate Jewish culture and strengthen Jewish identity.

Books that spark Jewish values are just the beginning. PJ Library actively partners with family-focused organizations to help launch Jewish journeys and create Jewish community. Our network of Parent Connectors lead family-friendly activities that will connect you to others raising Jewish kids, right in your neighborhood.

Reading a new PJ Library book together each month during a child’s formative years is a powerful way to shape a Jewish childhood, support cognitive development, and create a lifelong love of reading.

Testimonials
  • Thanks to PJ Library, [my son] is learning so much and loves being Jewish. He’s about to age out of PJ Library, but we’ll be sure plan to sign him up for PJ Our Way. I can’t imagine not having this free resource, and I only wish I had it when I was growing up.

  • My son was so excited after the Tu B’Shevat PJ book was read aloud that he pretended to plant trees for the rest of the playdate. I take that as an important sign for myself; as we are planting the seeds of our his Jewish lives identity as he grows.
