*This announcement was emailed to Jewish Dallas on December 6, 2024.

It is with mixed emotions that I want to share important news about the leadership of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas (JFGD).

Our President and CEO, Igor Alterman, has been appointed as the next President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. As a result, Igor will transition out of his role at JFGD, with his tenure concluding on February 1, 2025.

Since joining us in 2022, Igor has been a transformative leader, guiding our Federation through one of the most pivotal periods in recent history. His leadership in the aftermath of the tragic events of October 7th galvanized our community. Igor spearheaded the largest U.S.-based solidarity mission to Israel, fostered a new partnership with Kibbutz Zikim through the Jewish Agency, and achieved record-setting success in our annual campaign and Israel Emergency Fund. These achievements have solidified JFGD’s impact locally and globally.

Under Igor’s stewardship, JFGD has flourished. The Federation now boasts a fully staffed and cohesive professional team, cutting-edge digital infrastructure, and a strong foundation poised for continued growth. His vision, determination, and unwavering commitment have positioned us for a bold and prosperous future.

To ensure a seamless transition, Federation’s Chief Impact Officer, Rabbi Mordechai Harris, will assume the role of the Interim CEO as of February 1st, 2025. The Board of Directors will meet next week and will discuss the establishment of the Search Committee.

Igor asked to share his message to the community, as part of this announcement:

I am deeply grateful for your partnership and the unwavering support I have received from the leadership of the Dallas Jewish community. I have felt embraced, supported, and inspired throughout my time here, and I will forever cherish the personal and professional growth Jewish Dallas has offered me.

We are grateful to Igor for his entrepreneurial spirit, strategic vision, and heartfelt dedication to our community. While we will greatly miss his leadership, we wish him every success as he embarks on this new chapter, continuing to serve the Jewish people.

With gratitude and warm regards,

Dot Haymann
Chair of the Board of Directors
