The Center for Jewish Education’s Institute of Advanced Teacher Education recognizes the need for professional development for the community’s Jewish day school, religious school and early childhood teachers. The CJE partners with local universities, professionals and our own Jewish educators to offer cutting edge courses that include both content and teaching methods. Previous classes have included Text Study Exploration, Early Signs of Autism, Brain Based Learning, Active Learning, Reggio Inspired Classrooms, Teaching Hebrew Reading and many more. The CJE awards annual stipends to educators who complete a minimum of 12 hours of CJE offered continuing education.
The CJE produces an on-line newsletter that is sent to more than 450 local Jewish educators. This monthly publication updates educators on national conferences, online learning opportunities, and highlights local Jewish educators and their accomplishments.
